High School Diploma
LA CAUSA YouthBuild in partnership with YouthBuild Charter School of California proudly offers participants the opportunity to receive a fully accredited High School Diploma. Whether full time, or at their own pace, participants can accomplish their goal of completing a High School Education which aid them in their journey.
What they will do . . .
Project Based Learning
Project based learning allows young people to take ownership of their education by using what they learn in the classroom and applying it to real world problems.
Individualized Education
YCSC teachers provide young people with the appropriate modifications and accommodations in order to ensure that learning is accessible to all students.
Critical Thinking Skills
​YCSC teachers work towards elevating the level of thinking used by the young people by providing them with the tools and skills necessary to ask questions, developing their own answers, and participate in meaningful discussions.
Senior Portfolio
LA CAUSA, all students must complete a Senior Portfolio curriculum designed to help them create a portfolio for higher education and job opportunities. This program includes resume and cover letter writing, along with support for internships and job placements.
College Field Trips
LA CAUSA organizes trips to post-secondary institutions such as UC Irvine, Cal State Los Angeles, Occidental College, and Los Angeles Trade Tech. Participants receive exposure to careers in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) and construction-related fields, like architecture. They also experience an intense 1-week introduction to college at UCLA along with other college activities throughout the year.
